Updated 2023 formulation of westland john innes seed sowing compost, now 100% peat-free. Specially developed to help seeds germinate successfully, it has a fine texture that retains moisture around the seed and contains vermiculite to improve germination. The mix balances water-holding capacity with aeration to support healthy root and shoot development. It also contains a low but comprehensive range of nutrients and a neutral to slightly acidic ph to ensure nutrients are readily available for young plants.
