Half-hardy annual climber producing highly scented, tropical-looking purple pea flowers and attractive purple pods. Grows to around 500 cm and flowers from july to october. Sow march–may in individual 9 cm pots, cover seeds with a thin layer of vermiculite, water from below and mist leaves; plant out in may–june beside a wall, trellis or bamboo wigwam. Suited to containers, borders and vertical gardens; great for cut flowers and attracts bees. Pack of 10 seeds, prefers full sun and well-drained loamy soil. Cut back after the first frosts to extend the display.
