From may to july, it bears masses of pink, four-petalled flowers with yellow stamens set against a background of dark green deciduous foliage. The blooms possess a sweet, orange-blossom fragrance that will fill the garden and attract a host of beneficial pollinators. A tough but beautiful, low-maintenance shrub that copes with challenging locations such as coastal gardens, air pollution and dry banks. It adapts to a wide range of soils from chalk to heavy clay. Suitable for planting as a border specimen, container shrub or hedging. Height and spread: 1.2m (4ft).
