Experience early blooms with hydrangea macrophylla 'early blue', this hardy shrub is a garden treasure, boasting vibrant flowers weeks ahead of most varieties. As summer arrives, dark blue florets burst into large mophead blooms at the tips of each stem. Even as the flowers gradually fade, the skeletal seedheads linger, providing year-round interest. The blue blooms will fade to pink through autumn, so for the deepest blue flowers right through the season we recommend the use of hydrangea colourant. Mature height and spread: 120cm. Supplied as a pot-grown plant in a 9cm nursery pot.
