Thompson & Morgan Cercis Chinensis 'avondale'

Elevate the charm of your small garden with cercis chinensis 'avondale,' a hardy shrub that boasts an impressive rhs award of garden merit. Its bushy habit makes it a versatile choice, whether trained as a shrub or a small tree. In the spring, before the leaves unfurl, this deciduous plant showcases bare, upright shoots adorned with clusters of small, deep purple-pink, pea-like flowers, creating a spectacular and vibrant display. As the season progresses, the foliage emerges in a lush, rich green, heart-shaped fashion, providing an attractive canopy that lasts throughout summer. Come autumn, the leaves transform into a warm, buttery yellow, adding another layer of visual delight. Compact and adaptable, cercis chinensis 'avondale' can thrive happily in a large pot for many years. Your plant will grow to become a conversation starter and offers glossy foliage that serves as an excellent backdrop for other plants during the summer months. Expect a mature height and spread of 400cm x 250cm. Supplied in 9cm nursery pots.
