Dracaena, also known as dragon trees, originate from tropical africa or asia. Their name is derived from the greek word drakaina, which means female dragon. When the plant is damaged, red resin flows from the 'wounds'. This resin is also called dragon's blood and has been used medicinally since ancient times. The dracaena compacta has a striking appearance. The beautiful dark green leaves and compact growth give the plant a unique appearance. In addition, the dracaena is very easy to care for.
Carethis dracaena is easy to look after: it likes bright light and a humid atmosphere. Regularly spraying the leaves with water helps keeping the plant beautiful. The plant consumes little water: you only need to water it when the soil feels dry. In summer, it is better to keep the soil a bit more moist. The ideal temperature for this plant is between 18°c and 25°c.
