Marshalls garden patio cherry 'regina' - compact black cherry tree for pots and small gardens. Produces deep glossy, sweet-tart cherries that become sweeter as they ripen, highly rated for flavour. Grows to about 120 cm (4 ft), ideal for sunny patios and containers, hardy and suited to northern climates. Not self-fertile — requires another cherry variety nearby for pollination. Resistant to fruit cracking and flowers abundantly, attracting pollinators early in the season. Supplied on colt rootstock, flowering group fg4. Prune in winter to remove dead wood and reduce growth by a quarter, and lightly in august to shape the canopy.
