Nepeta 'walker's low' (catmint) produces clouds of soft lavender-blue flowers above aromatic grey-green foliage. Flowering from june to september, its nectar-rich blooms attract bees and butterflies and often repeat through summer. Low-growing and spreading, it reaches about 50-60 cm and works well for edging borders, softening front-of-border plantings, paths or containers. Thrives in full sun in sandy, loamy or chalky well-drained soil and tolerates dry conditions once established. Easy to grow and maintain—trim back after flowering to encourage fresh growth and repeat blooms.
