Smothered in lilac flowers from late spring to autumn, marshalls garden lobelia 'fountain lilac' is a trailing annual ideal for containers and hanging baskets. Contains 850 seeds. Sow indoors: almost fill a seed tray with moist seed compost, sow seeds thinly on the surface and do not cover; keep warm (15–20°c) and moist. Grow on in a light spot shaded from direct sun; transplant small clumps 5 cm apart into potting compost. Harden off for 2–3 weeks and plant out after the danger of frost has passed. Do not separate clumps when planting; lobelia looks best planted en masse. Flowering june to september; prefers partial sun and well-drained soil and is pollinator-friendly.
