Compact dwarf iris 'cantab' (reticulata) produces sky-blue flowers with darker blue falls and an orange-and-white throat in late winter and early spring (february–march). At about 10–15 cm tall it’s ideal for pots, rockeries, window boxes and the front of borders; it prefers full sun and well-drained soil and will naturalise to return year after year.
