Marshalls garden grafted aubergine 'long purple' is a heritage variety grown in europe since the 1900s, producing long-bodied fruits with very dark, shiny purple skin and excellent flavour. Grafting on a strong rootstock boosts vigour, yield and disease resistance, while the chosen scion enhances sweetness and taste. Best eaten slightly under-ripe; remove small fruits so no more than six develop for best results. Flowers in july–september and crops ripen from mid-summer to early autumn. Suited to a sheltered, sunny spot—perfect for greenhouse growing, raised beds, garden plots or a patio container, with plants reaching about 100 cm tall. Comes with recyclable packaging.
