Rhs award of garden merit recommended double snowdrop, galanthus 'flore pleno', with lightly fragrant double white flowers about 2.5 cm long and subtle green markings at the petal tips. Narrow grey-green foliage appears in late winter and plants flower from january to march, growing 20-25 cm tall. Ideal for shade, woodland drifts, lawns, borders and under deciduous trees; plant en masse for best effect. Supplied as bulbs in the green for quick establishment in most soils and either sunny or partially shaded sites; british-grown, responsibly sourced and attractive to bees.
