Marshalls garden common walnut - majestic, slow-growing feature tree for large gardens and parkland, producing aromatic oval nuts in autumn. Self-fertile and hardy, with a broad, rounded canopy and golden-yellow autumn foliage. Flowers appear in may–june, followed by nuts encased in green husks that ripen to brown by autumn. Reaches 10–20 m at maturity, fruits in about 2–4 years from planting. Supplied as a 2-year bare-root specimen, grown on own roots, prefers full sun and well-drained soil, supports pollinators and wildlife.
