Clematis 'comtesse de bouchard' is a vigorous self-twining climber with large mauve-pink flowers from june to september. Hardy and suitable for full sun or partial shade, it reaches 100–150 cm and looks attractive trained on a trellis, obelisk, wall or fence. This is a group 3 clematis — prune hard in early spring. Supplied pot-grown and ready to plant, keep the pot sheltered and watered if not planting immediately. Plant in well-drained soil, mix in soil improver when planting in the ground, or use a good-quality compost and regular feeding for containers.
