Creating a dramatic display, deep, rich, blackcurrant-coloured blooms, each one with a darker throat, adorn strong, wiry stems from may to october. Attractive, glossy, green, semi-evergreen foliage forms beneath. The open-mouthed, trumpet-shaped bells invite pollinators to visit, while slugs, rabbit and deer tend to leave well alone, and reaching a mature height of around 1m, spreading to between 45-60cm. The rhs suggest a hardiness rating of h4, so protection will not be required if the temperatures stay above -10 c.
