Magnolia laevifolia ‘honey velvet’ is a compact variety of this much-loved garden shrub. Fitting neatly into a large container, as well as happy in open ground, ‘honey velvet’ is perfect for patios, balconies and courtyards or smaller planting spaces. Foliage is simply shaped and dark green with a glossy sheen to the front – fantastic for filling gaps or creating long-lasting impact in containers and herbaceous borders. In march and april large, creamy white flowers emerge from fascinating velvety brown buds. Blooms are cup-shaped and have an intense, sweet perfume which will gently fill the garden or your home if stems are cut for a vase. Supplied in 9cm pots.
