Fresh from a specialist breeder in the netherlands, hydrangea macrophylla ‘tabletensia pink’ is one of a new series of miniature hydrangea petite enough not just for a container, but a hanging basket no less! Reaching just 25-40cm in height and with a 40cm spread, this mophead hydrangea is certain to elicit double takes as it blooms away in situations usually reserved for much smaller plants. And bloom it shall. This compact, low-growing cultivar has an impressive branching habit, with flowers developed by each and every side shoot. These are a creamy green when young, deepening to a rich, vibrant pink with age. Expect flowers from mid spring to late summer. As the name suggests, the ‘tabletensia’ series is especially suited to life as a table centrepiece, ideally on a partially shaded patio or terrace, with shelter from cold, drying winds. It can even be brought indoors for short periods, though in the long term will prefer life outside. Supplied in 10.5cm pots.
