Hayloft Hydrangea Macrophylla Ankong Pink - 14cm pots

Generous domes of flowers from june through to september. Hydrangea macrophylla 'ankong pink' will create a stunning display either in open ground or in a large container, with strong stems adding glamour inside your home too if cut for a vase. Hydrangeas are woodland plants, with macrophylla being native to east asia. Also known as hortensia this variety is a large, rounded, deciduous shrub with dark green oval leaves up to 20cm long. Despite their fecund appearance, the larger flowers are sterile preferring to put all their energy into looking beautiful, it is the much smaller buds that are fertile. Plant hydrangea macrophylla 'ankong pink' in moist, well-drained soil which has a neutral to alkaline ph as this will sustain the pink petals. Position in full sun to partial shade of any aspect and your hardy (h5) deciduous shrub will reach a height and spread of 1m. Supplied in 14cm pots.
