Hayloft Hakonechloa Macra Aureola - 3 x 9cm Pots

Hakonechloa macra ‘aureola' is a neat, clump-forming deciduous grass that has narrow, arching, green-striped, bright yellow leaves. Foliage is held from march to november each year and often changes to reddish tinged in autumn and early winter. Flowers are brown in colour and considered insignificant when compared to the vibrant, densely packed leaves. Plant ‘en masse’ under trees and shrubs for a bright and naturalising groundcover that is an excellent weed suppressant. Hakonechloa macra ‘aureola’ is equally happy in a pot, gravel garden or at the edge of a border and is drought tolerant once established. Prefers a site with moist, well-drained soil of any aspect and soil type. Requires full sun or part shade in order to thrive and is a fully hardy (h7) perennial grass. Supplied in 9cm pots.
