With rounded tops on the double blooms, they have a ruffled resplendence to them, each flower has a longer petalled underskirt which offers intriguing and colourful drama in containers, raised beds and even prairie gardens. Flowers emerge in june and continue right through to october time for plentiful supplies both in the garden and in a vase for your home. Just remember to deadhead spent flowers for continual replenishment and long-lasting sustenance for pollinating visitors too. Echinacea purpurea ‘lemon drops’ certainly has a joyful yellow tang to its robust and ragged petals. With plants maturing to a height of 70cm, with a spread of 60cm they will hold a glowing presence in the garden. Plants are drought tolerant once established and easy-going enough for busy or beginner gardeners to enjoy. Echinacea prefer a moist, well-drained soil of any kind except heavy clay. Position in full sun or partial shade and these hardy, herbaceous perennials will die back below ground over winter, re-emerging in spring the following year. Supplied in 9cm pots.
