Hayloft Clematis Orientalis 'bill Mackenzie' - 8cm Pots

A vigorous, vibrant climber that produces a mass of small, rich-yellow bell-shaped blooms from july right through to september. Clematis orientalis ‘bill mackenzie’ is a popular variety loved for its vibrant flowers each with four outer yellow petals producing a star shaped bloom with distinctive reddish-brown stamens. Flowers are followed by intriguing, fluffy flowerheads providing interest into the winter. An extremely useful plant in the garden, easily covering a fence or outbuilding wall, especially eye-catching when left to scramble through the branches of a tree. Growing to a height of up to 8m and a spread of 4m this is a sizable variety and will require space. Thriving in full sun or partial shade in any moist but well drained soil, except acidic soil. Like all clematis ‘bill mackenzie’ will prefer his feet to be kept cool and damp but not waterlogged. Shade the roots by placing other plants nearby for use a layer of pebbles. A hardy perennial climber that has earned an award of garden merit from the rhs for outstanding performance in the garden.
