An early, large-flowered variety, clematis 'mrs. N. Thompson' is a striking and reliable climber, admired for its bold, bicolored flowers. This eye-catching variety produces large bi-coloured blooms, typically 12-15 cm across, with deep violet-purple petals and a striking red central bar. The vibrant contrast makes it a standout feature in any garden. Flowering from early summer to early autumn, ‘mrs. N. Thompson’ offers a long season of interest, with a second flush of blooms appearing later in the summer. Growing to a height of around 2.5m, this compact clematis is perfect for smaller gardens, containers, or training up trellises and fences. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained, fertile soil. As a group 2 clematis, it benefits from light pruning in late winter or early spring to encourage healthy growth and abundant flowers and again after flowering if needed. Supplied in 7cm pots.
