A petite, yet perfect, white allium with huge, star-shaped blooms gathered together into spherical forms on a strong, central stem. each flower has the palest pink flush to it, along with brightly coloured purple anthers which add to the simple, yet colourful ensemble - allium amplectens ‘graceful beauty’ certainly has a charm all of its own. plant in containers or to the front of a border as these treasures reach a height of 40cm, with a spread of 20cm and the captivating markings are best appreciated up close. plants are also ideal for ‘en masse’ planting, where the snowy white drifts will create an eye-catching spectacle. what’s more, ‘graceful beauty’ is equally alluring to pollinators and the blooms, produced in may and june, make a long-lasting inclusion in a vase too. Allium amplectens ‘graceful beauty’ prefers to be planted in well-drained soil of any kind which benefits from full sun. protect from strong winds and, where possible, avoid a north-facing aspect. hardy (h5), bulbous perennials which are drought tolerant and will readily naturalise in the right conditions.
