Prunus mirabelle de nancy, is a dazzling tree that produces an abundance of small, bite size bright yellow, sweet cherry plums in bunches. A stone free variety, very juicy and highly sweetened. Can be eaten raw or cooked, useful for preserves and pies. Harvesting is around september. Beautiful white blossom is borne in the spring, before the green foliage emerges. A superb tree which can be grown in any garden small or large. Self fertile. Grown on a st julien a rootstock and will grow to approx 10ft-12ft tall, however can be pruned each year to keep smaller if required. Planting position: full sun. Sheltered position. Aspect: south or west facing soil: will tolerate most, well drained soils mature height & spread: 12ft x 5ft hardiness: fully hardy foliage:deciduous growth rate: average fruit picking: early september fertility: partially self-fertile. Will produce fruit without a pollination partner, but will yield high quantites of fruit with a partner such as opal.
