The fargesia rufa, or commonly known as green bamboo, originates from china and is very easy to maintain. Bamboo is evergreen, hardy to -20 degrees celsius and this species is not invasive. An ideal garden plant! These favourable properties make the fargesia rufa the most sold bamboo in europe. The maximum height of the fargesia rufa is 3 metres. This makes the plant also suitable for creating a nice dense hedge. The fargesia rufa retains its leaves throughout the year and gives a real oriental atmosphere to your garden.
Carethe fargesia rufa prefers a place in sun or semi shade and needs moderate to a lot of water. Water the plants regularly in summer and on hot days. It is recommended to plant the bamboo with a distance of 40-60 cm from each other if put in the open ground. But it is also possible to plant the plants in a pot in the garden!
