Upright grey-green stems are densely packed with narrow silver-grey foliage all year round. With a neat habit, an abundance of beautiful indigo-blue blooms adorn the tops from june to september. Both the flowers and the evergreen foliage are highly fragrant, which makes lavender incredibly versatile.  low maintenance, the evergreen angustifolia varieties are known commonly as ‘english lavender’, even though they actually originate from the mediterranean. Drought tolerant, lavandula angustifolia ‘blue spear’ is a hardy perennial, with an rhs hardiness rating of h5, and will withstand temperatures down to -15°c – grow in well-drained soil in a sunny position, where it will reach a height and spread of 20-30cm.
