Hayloft Hydrangea Paniculata Polestar - 9cm pots

Hydrangea paniculata 'polestar' is the perfect patio plant, a new, compact, colour-changing beauty. One of the earliest hydrangea to start flowering in late spring, early summer, the blooms open lime-white then mature through cream to blush-pink in summer, covering the compact lush green foliage. By early autumn the blooms have become a rich, rosy, red, even when grown in shade. Hydrangea have been in cultivation for centuries and are thought to be named in the 1700's because the shape was reminiscent of a water vessel, hence the words 'hydro' meaning water, and 'angeion' meaning pitcher. Hydrangea paniculata 'polestar' prefers to be grown in well-drained soil in partial shade. Reaching a mature height and spread of around 50cm, the rhs have given a hardiness rating of h5, so should not require any winter protection in most of the uk in our average winter. Easy to grow, preferring moist, well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Supplied in 9cm pots.
