Hayloft Alchemilla Mollis - Lady's Mantle 3 X 9cm Pots

A cottage garden favourite with sensual foliage and zingy flowers which enhance both traditional and modern planting schemes. Flowers are excellent for cutting and offer a colourful haze to vases and bouquets - they can even be dried for use later in the season. The frothy yellow blooms are borne above scalloped, toothed grey-green foliage from may to august each year. Ideal as underplanting for shrubs or groundcover to the front of borders and pathway edges. The plant's name is taken from the arabic meaning 'little magical one', because of healing properties the plant was said to have possessed. Furthermore, alchemilla mollis' bright green leaves are shaped to catch the morning dew - this dew, in the middle ages, was thought to have magical properties. Alchemilla mollis likes a spot with moist, well-drained soil in sun or partial shade.
