With verdant foliage held from march to october, these compact mallows are perfect of fill gaps in your planting, whilst the flowering stems look radiant when cut for a vase inside your home. The open-faced, trumpet shaped flowers are ideal for attracting pollinators, and plants are beneficially drought tolerant once established. The 'lavatera marshmallow collection' comprises ‘cherry blush’ with deep and intense cherry centres; ‘white’ with pure blooms contrasting beautifully with the verdant foliage; and ‘strawberry cream’ in delicious, pastel shades. Plant in light, moderately fertile, well-drained soil which benefits from full sun or partial shade and enjoys any aspect other than north facing. Once established the ‘lavatera marshmallow collection’ is ideal for drier parts of the garden. All are hardy, deciduous shrubs which will lose their leaves and become dormant over winter – reinvigorating the following spring.
